USDJPY falls -3.88% after reaching a four decade high
01/08/2026 USDJPY fell a significant -3.88% to close at ¥157.434, a week after reaching a four decade high. With the Dollar Index falling -1.49% this week, EURUSD climbed 1.39% to end the week at 1.15246. GBPUSD was also on a 1.31% rise, ending the week at 1.3482.
Crude Oil fell -5.20% this week, closing the month at 84.67. Brent dropped more significantly by -9.14%, to end the week at 87.93.
Gold was on a slight drop of -0.22% to end July at 4,042.97, and Silver also fell by -0.62%, closing the week at 57.62.
It was a rebound week for Major US Indices, with S&P 500 closing the week at 7,489.72 after climbing by 1.05%. Nasdaq also rose by 0.52% to end the week at 28,274.20, and Dow Jones closed at 52,485.03 after a 1.04% rise.
Microsoft (21.75%), Google (11.38%) and Amazon (17.00%) stocks jump significantly, while Apple (-7.24%), Meta (-6.47%) and Nvidia (-2.94%) fell this week.
Bitcoin reached the 63k levels after falling by -2.03% this week. Ethereum also fell -0.31% this week but continues well above the 1,8k levels.
Mixed movement for stocks
30/07/2026 Microsoft gained a 10% rise after major revenue forecast updates, while Meta falls 7.5% after heavy spending and Earning's missed estimates.
Gold, Oil and Silver all drop
28/07/2026 Gold falls -1.22% and is slightly holding above the 4k levels. Silver also slips -1.85% to below $58. Crude Oil drops -1.33% to 81.50 and Brent also falls -1.64% to 86.957. Bitcoin slips -0.57% to 63,371 today.
Apple stock hits New Record
27/07/2026 With a 1% increase, Apple reached a market cap of $4.95 trillion and closed Monday as the world’s most valuable publicly traded company, overtaking Nvidia for the first time since April 2025.
Oil climbs further this week
25/07/2026 Crude Oil rises 10.63% this week, reaching 90.47, and is now on a monthly 25.79%. Brent climbed more significantly by 11.67%, to close the week at 98.38.  Gold was on a slight rise of 0.87% to end the week at  4,052, and Silver climbed by 3.72%, closing the week at 57.98.   With the dollar index climbing by 0.71%, EUR/USD fell -0.64% to close at 1.13667, and GBP/USD dropped by -1.07% to end the week at 1.33079. USD/JPY continued to rise by 0.85%, reaching its highest levels in four decades and closed at ¥163.78.  It was another negative week for Major US Indices, with S&P 500 closing the week at 7,411.98 after falling by -0.61%. Nasdaq fell more significantly by -2.13% to end the week at 24,975.82 while Dow Jones closed at 51,947.25 after a -0.38% drop.  Meta (-7.87%) continued to drop this week, while Nvidia (1.99%) recovered. Amazon (-6.12%) and Microsoft (-3.08%) also fell this week.   Bitcoin reached above $66k on Tuesday, before falling below 64k levels and is now on a weekly drop of -1.29%. Ethereum also fell -0.24% this week but continues well above the 1,8k levels.
Tesla and Google fall significantly
23/07/2026 Tesla fell a significant 18.87% this week, with Earnings per share coming in well below forecasts. Google also dropped by 7.91%, although comfortably topping Earnings forecasts, following plans for increased spending in 2026.
JPYUSD on a four decade high

Oil rises significantly by 15%
18/07/2026 Crude Oil rises 15.52% this week, reaching 82.49, and is now on a monthly 8.75%. Brent climbed more significantly by 15.91%, to close the week at 88.10. Gold continued to fall by -2.53% to end the week at 4,016.95, and Silver dropped more significantly by -6.60%, closing the week at 55.90. EUR/USD climbed 0.21% to close at 1.14395, and GBP/USD continued to rise by 0.32% to end the week at 1.34519. USD/JPY continued to rise by 0.44% and closed at ¥162.403. ​It was a negative week for Major US Indices, with S&P 500 closing the week at 7,457.69 after falling by -1.55%. Nasdaq fell more significantly by -4.13% to end the week at 28,592.66 while Dow Jones closed at 52,146.42 after a -0.93% drop.  Apple (5.84%) and Amazon (0.77%) continued to rise, while it was a negative week for Meta (-3.47%), Nvidia (-3.86%), and Tesla (-6.60%). Google (-2.91%) continued to fall, while Microsoft (2.26%) recovered this week.   Bitcoin continued around the 64k levels this week and Ethereum climbed 3.08% to well above the 1,8k levels.
Oil reaches 10% rise this week
16/07/2026 Crude Oil rises 10.12% this week to above $79, as Brent climbs 10.78% to above $84.
Silver also climbs by 1.09% to just above $57.
GBPUSD's rise sees the pair climb above 1.35 this week, while EURUSD remains well above 1.14.
Bitcoin rises 2.36% to well above 64k levels this week and Ethereum is also 10% up, to above 1,9k levels.
Oil continues to rise
14/07/2026 Crude Oil rises 1.35% to above $79, as Brent climbs 1.64% to above $84. Gold is on the rebound and rises 1.39%, Silver also climbs by 1.71%. Bitcoin rises 3.81% to well above 64k levels and Ethereum is also up by 5.18%, to well above 1,8k levels.
Oil climbs 3%, Gold and Silver fall
13/07/2026 Oil is up 3% today. Crude Oil rises above $73, and Brent climbs above $78.
Gold falls by -1.43% to below 4,100, and Silver drops -2.15% to below $58.
GBP/USD falls -0.11% to below 1.34. USD/JPY rises 0.27% and is now above ¥162.
Bitcoin falls -1.91% to below the 63k levels and Ethereum drops -1.97% to below 1,8k levels.
Crude Oil rises 3.85% this week
11/07/2026 Crude Oil rises 3.85% this week, reaching 71.41, although remains on a monthly -18.58% drop. Brent climbed more significantly by 5.42%, to close the week at 76.01. Gold fell by -1.18% to end the week at 4,121.05, and Silver dropped more significantly by -4.08%, closing the week at 59.851.  EUR/USD dropped slightly by -0.18% to close at 1.14152, while GBP/USD continued to rise by 0.44% to end the week at 1.34087. USD/JPY recovered by 0.20% and closed at ¥161.692. It was a mixed week for Major US Indices, with S&P 500 closing the week at 7,575.39 after climbing further by 1.23%. Nasdaq also climbed by 1.69% to end the week at 29,825.11, while Dow Jones closed at 52,637.01 after a -0.50% drop. It was a very positive week for Meta (14.81%) and Nvidia (8.28%). Tesla (3.64%), Amazon (1.10%), Apple (2.17%) climbed, while Google (-0.76%) and Microsoft (-1.38%) fell this week.  It was another positive week for cryptocurrencies, with Bitcoin climbing further by 1.69% to above the 64k levels and Ethereum rising 1.03% to near the 1,8k levels.
Oil down again, Gold recovers
09/07/2026 Crude Oil drops -1.69% to above $72 levels, while Brent also falls -1.30% today. Gold climbs 1.19% to $4,124, and Silver rises 3.19% to above $60.
Currencies hold steady
08/07/2026 EURUSD is steady above 1.14 and GBPUSD holds over 1.33. USDJPY remains well above ¥162
Gold drops, Oil climbs today
07/07/2026 Gold is on the dropping by -0.78% today and Silver is sinks further -1.75%.
​Crude Oil is climbing by 1%, and Brent rises by 1.07%.
EUR/USD drops by -0.14%, and GBP/USD is also -0.13% down. USD/JPY also falls by -0.09%.
Bitcoin falls by -1.05% but remains above the 63k levels and Ethereum drops by -0.95% to below the 1,8k levels.
Major Indices climb today
06/07/2026 It was a positive day yesterday for Major US Indices, with S&P 500 climbing 0.72%. Nasdaq also rose 1.26%, while Dow Jones moved slightly up by 0.29%.
It was another positive day for Meta (2.98%), Google (1.82%), Apple (1.31%), and Tesla (6.69%), while Microsoft (-0.96%) slipped.
Gold recovers 2% and Silver climbs 6% this week
04/07/2026 Gold recovered 2% this week, climbing at 4,170.25. Silver was also on a 6.16% rise, to close the week at 62.40. ​Crude Oil continued to drop slightly by -0.67% to end the week at 68.764, and Brent fell by -0.69%, closing the week at 72.102.  With the Dollar Index dropping by -0.50% this week, EUR/USD climbed by 0.46% to close at 1.14357, and GBP/USD rose by 1.16% to end the week at 1.33504. USD/JPY fell by -0.23% and closed at ¥161.365. It was a positive week for Major US Indices, with S&P 500 closing the week at 7,483.24 after climbing 1.76%. Nasdaq also climbed by 0.72% to end the week at 29,329.21, while Dow Jones closed at 52,900.07 after a 1.97% rise. It was a very positive week for Meta (5.93%), Google (6.67%), Amazon (4.29%),  Nvidia(1.19%),  Apple (8.76%), Microsoft (4.70%) and Tesla (3.62%).  It was a rebound week for cryptocurrencies, with Bitcoin climbing by 4.13% to well above the 62k levels and Ethereum rising 11.52% to above the 1,7k levels.
Gold climbs, Oil drops

Gold gains 1% today and Silver also climbs 1.53%. Crude Oil sinks -1.94% further and Brent drops -1.69%.
Meta stock jumps 8.81%
02/07/2026 Meta stock climbs almost 9% after Bloomberg said the company is exploring a cloud business that would sell excess AI computing capacity to outside customers.
S&P 500 ends Q2 up 15%

S&P500 continued its ongoing rise, ending Quarter 2 with a 15% increase, reaching $7,609.78 on June 4th.
Oil prices reach pre-war levels
30/06/2026 Oil is now slightly recovering after reaching a 4-month low. Crude Oil is currently on a -23.30% monthly drop, while Brent is also on a -22.24% monthly fall. ​Gold is on track for a fourth straight losing month, dropping -10.13% since last month.  Silver is slightly recovering after dropping toward $57 per ounce, and is now on a -21.22% monthly drop.
